PL2022 - Weeks 34 & 35 | Sahlin Studio

Here are combined weeks 34 & 35 of my project life album. 

These hot days are gone now. We woke up to an impressive dump of snow Saturday morning. The boys both came down with head colds on Tuesday. Literally they both woke up feeling crummy.  And late Tuesday night, the furnace quite working. The earliest someone can come out is Friday. Yikes. And this morning, the thermostat was showing 14.5 degrees Celcious when we got up. [57.2 degrees Fahrenheit] So we're making due. We are are all inside bundled up. Even the poor dog is wearing her sweater.

I'm super thankful it's not subzero temps outside. Eagerly waiting for the furnace to be fixed. 

• At the end of August, we were still experiencing super hot days.

• Family gathering with Barry's side of the family. 
• Madelyn's back to school photo shoot.

PL2022 - Week 33 | Sahlin Studio

The photos for this week all had the weirdest colours.  I decided to change all but one set  of photos to black and white, so they would't all clash. In doing so, it makes the page so much more cohesive.  I think it makes it look much sleeker. 

Here's week 33 of my project life album. 

• Miss Libby getting groomed. We got a quick, somewhat blurry snapshot of her during her last grooming session. She literally needs to be dragged in the door. She hates it. 
• Mid- August and getting in eye and dentist appointments before school starts back up again. 
• Baba's car got hit in a parking lot. Thankfully he was okay, just the hassle now of dealing with insurance. 
• Axe throwing with close friends. We had so many laughs. Such a fun afternoon.

A few weeks ago I made a page about the kids past Halloween costumes. I realized that we adults have fun too! [Though the kids would disagree with that statement, they think we're utter bores] This kit was perfect page to showcase some of the fun costumes we've had over the years. My only regret, is we don't have photos of all of them... The days before digital cameras and cameras on phones, you were a lot stingier with photo taking...

PL2022 - Weeks 31 & 32 | Sahlin Studio

We did have a hot summer. However, this year, we also got summer storms along with the heat. Not too many, just enough to break up the super hot days.  After blue skies and high temperatures, we woke up one morning to dark and gloomy. When the unpleasant days are sprinkled in here and there, it makes it okay. 

I combined weeks 31 and 32 for this page. I just didn't have enough photos for the two weeks. 

• Morning snuggles are everyone's favourite. 
• Dark and gloomy and a bit of reprise from the heat.
• Celebrating Dad's big birthday.
• Unexpected ice cream date.

I used Designed by Soco's recently released Pocket Stories Vol. 5 for this page. 

We've had the nicest fall I can remember in a long time. We actually still have some trees with leaves still on them, which is kind of unusual for us. It seems that as soon as we get a killing frost, which quite often happens early on in September, all the leaves change quickly. We have had a couple of heavy frosts, but apparently not quite heavy enough. One of the last times I remember having such a beautiful autumn, was 14 years ago. We came back in late September, from a nearly 3 week anniversary trip to Greece, and then got to enjoy fall. 

Enjoying the warm days and cool evenings. 

Also can't believe we sat on the outdoor patio of a pub a few weeks ago.

Pocket Stories Vol. 5 | Designed by Soco

Designed by Soco has released Pocket Stories Vol. 5. 

I adore this pocket style format. These days, the majority of my scrapbooking is pocket page related. 

Using these layouts, takes all the guess work out of deciding on the page set up. I simply choose the layout and get to work. 

Here's what Vol. 5 looks like: 

A few weeks ago, the world was stunned to hear about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. She reigned for 70 years. Seventy years... In my 52 years, it's all I've ever known. In school assemblies, we used to sing God Save the Queen. Her face is all over our Canadian currency. Her photo is on the walls in every government building in Canada. 

I know she's a human being, like the rest of of. Yet she seemed almost immortal. I know she couldn't possibly live forever. Even so, it still came as such a shock. Both kids texted me within minutes of the announcement. Both of them of course, with the world at their fingertips in shape of their smart phones.

There was no question about whether or not I'd document a momentous occasion such as this. Here's my page:

PL2022 - Week 30 | Sahlin Studio

Here is week 30 of my project life album. We were still on our little vaycay. Love that we got to spend this meaningful time together as a family. We made it the whole week without anyone being crabby or moody. Quite a feat considering we were 4 adult-sized people, sharing a hotel room. 

• Moody morning on the coast. We drank coffee and enjoyed this view. 
• Empress Hotel in the background in Victoria.
• Enjoying the beach.
• We witnessed the most amazing double rainbow when we got home. Fabulous.
• After a few days home, we needed a water fix. Took Miss Libby with us down to the river.

October 2022 Template Freebie | Sahlin Studio

It's already October! Wow. We have been enjoying the loveliest autumn. The days have been warmer than usual, the nice thing is, the evenings cool off so the house isn't sweltering. 

We did it, another summer under our belts without air conditioning! Woot-woot!

Halloween has always been a favourite of mine. Then, for a few years I was totally not into decorating. This year,  I kind of feel inspired once again. That will be good news for Madelyn, who loves to help me put the decorations out. I wish we had crawl space cubbies that I could store boxes and boxes of decor... 

In reality, we don't have a bunch of storage space, so I try to keep things to an acceptable amount. 

I was going through the photos on my computer, trying to figure out which ones I wanted to include in thls layout. I got all melancholy going through all the photos of the kids in their costumes... 

So I simply picked a few of those photos and put them on this layout.
