PL2021 - Week 4 | Sahlin Studio

Last week I indicated that I was getting more comfortable with the new photo album format I'm using for project life.

I am.

I'm creating pages that make me happy.

Here's a look at week 4:

  • Miss Libby never gets too far away.
  • A surprising [read - no cavities] trip to the dentist.
  • Snow removal with a leaf blower is considered a winter bonus.
  • Trying to interest Mad in some curls in her hair.
  • The tik tok tortilla wrap hack phenomenon. I've since mastered a taco crunch wrap, so good.  I've had it 4 times in a week and a half...

Special Day | Sahin Designs

For February's creative gallery, I chose to use the Special Day collection.

I was going through a box of photos a while back and came across a photo taken on my wedding day, ahem, a few years ago. It was me with my Mum and both Grandma's.

As soon as I saw the picture, I knew I wanted to create a layout using it.

These women, all three of them, have made me who I am today. I'm so fortunate to have had special relationships with both my Grandmothers. And to this day, to have a special relationship/friendship with my Mum.

I'm so thankful that I have this picture, with all four of us together. I love that I now have this layout to tuck safely in my scrapbook album.

PL2021 - Week 3 | Sahlin Studio

It's taken me a few weeks to get into the groove of my new pocket page format, but I think I'm finally there.

One awesome bonus of this new format is, I don't need to trim pictures any more. I simply slide them into the sleeve. Not that trimming pictures was super time consuming, but these pages do come together surprisingly fast now.

Also, I just picked up my very last batch of photos at Costco, in person. It looks as though I'll still be able to order photos on-line, but now they'll be delivered to me instead. I'm a bit skeptical about how this will work. I'll let you know when my first order arrives.

Here is week 3 of my project life album:

  • I don't get too many opportunities take selfies with both kids at the same time any more, but I got 2 this week. One with our masks on, and the other when we made a trip to Costco.
  • Masks everywhere we go. On the bright side, it keeps my face warmer in the chillier temps.
  • Miss Libby, sunning herself at the back door.
  • Mason helping out with some snow removal.

I used the following Sahlin Studio product:

A new year always seems like the perfect time to start fresh.

One of my goals this year is to move my body more, and to get my heart rate up.

The one setback I'm having this week is the temperature. For the past week, night time temperatures have  dipped down to below -40 degrees celsius, including the windchill.

My car wouldn't start this week. Major bummer.

I walked last week, while temperatures were decent and even added a few sets of stairs to my walks. That definitely got my heart pumping. However, when it's this cold, I'm not very interested in getting outside. Or breathing in that frigid air.

I have been practising yoga, regularly, for the past year. Though it doesn't exactly get my heart pumping, I almost always work up a sweat. I can't believe how much more flexible I've become since I  started. I can also do poses now, that I either couldn't do, or couldn't hold when I first began. It's a gradual progress that has me very pleased with myself.

Here's my layout using Go the Distance:

One pose I'm working on mastering is crow pose. Hopefully next year I'll be able to add that one to my list of conquered poses.

PL2021 - Week 2 | Sahlin Studio

We've finally hit Arctic type temperatures this week.

Not that I'm excited about it, far from it. But we all know it's going to happen. Usually December and January we're most likely to dip this far below zero. This year it's hitting us in February. Cold and snow. Two things that make me want to stay inside permanently.

I've been working on the new format of this years project life album. I'm not going to lie, it's been a bit tricky. But I'm pleased to say, that after this page, week 2, I think I'm in a bit of a groove.

This format is going to be okay after all.

Here is week 2:

  • Madelyn made these Monkey Bread muffins, with her Trex group, over Zoom. It was neat to hear all the girls talking and in their own kitchens, all making the same recipe.
  • Mason and Emelin painted Mason's the green walls in Mason's new room. Others walls are grey.
  • We played some fibbage games one Saturday night, over the computer with family.
  • With the weather being decent, we've been getting Miss Libby out to walk.
  • First in-person gathering since November.

I used it to document a recent trip I made with the kids to Bowness Park.

One Friday afternoon, back when Madelyn was doing on line school, she finished up early and we grabbed skates and headed to Bowness Park.

We weren't totally sure what we'd find... The park had been on the news multiple times up until then, with bylaw officers turning carloads of hopeful skaters away.

We were lucky. No bylaw officers, we weren't turned away. Lots of parking spots available and the ice wasn't stupid busy.

The kids skated while I walked the dog.

We were delighted to find that they have created a bunch of skating paths around the park, in addition to the frozen lagoon and canal.

We sent about an hour. It was a bluebird day. The kids explored and once they were finished, their cheeks were red and rosy. I still love to see red and rosy cheeks.

Hopefully we'll be able to get back there a few more times this winter.

More Than a Thousand Words - February 2021 Featured Product | Sahlin Studio

Sahlin Studio's featured product for the month of February is More than a Thousand Words. You can download it all month long for 35% off.

Worth a Thousand Words by Sahlin Studio

As you already saw, with my week one layout, I'm starting another brand new year of Project Life.

This years format, will look a bit different. I mentioned already, that I picked up a photo album and plan it use it for at least this years album. Crossing my fingers I'll be able to get two years in it.

2021 marks my 10th documenting our lives in this format.

I still love it. As long as I love it, I'm going to keep doing it.

Here is my front of my 2021 title page.

I had to include our new normal, every day life wearing masks.

Back side:

Quick and simple, just a current type of page, with a few things we're all into at the moment.
