PL2022 - Week 24 | Sahlin Studio

Oof.... This was week was a hard one. 

It was the week of my Sweet Mum's birthday. And I have to say, I missed her more than I thought possible. 

As I'm typing this out, it's been 9 1/2 months since losing her, and I still feel lost... It's not quite as raw as it was after first losing her.  But it still feels like all the air is being squeezed from my lungs. I absolutely hate my new normal. 

I did blur out my journaling about the day. It's pretty personal and close to the heart. 

• Mum's birthday was a hard one. 
• Mad made her delicious Lofthouse Cookies for a drama potluck.
• A reptile now lives in my home... 
• Father's Day.
• The longer days mean warm, sunshine and summertime.

PL2022 - Week 23 | Sahlin Studio

Week 23 of my album takes us back to the beginning of summer. 

Oh how I love June... The longer days. The golden sun. Summer laid out before us. 

• Corona Sunrise, an adult bevvie inspired by tik tok. [It didn't disappoint]
• Miss Libby, happiest surveying her front yard.
• 2nd year in a row I participated in Workshop Week. I love that it gets my creative juices flowing. I just wish they'd stay that way. 
• Madelyn came home after school one day after dying her hair blue... There were tears [mine] She promised me it would wash out after 6-8 washes... 😂 It's now mid-August, and still a grey-ish/blue-ish/brown-ish colour. [She did admit she thought it would actually wash out] I knew better, hence the tears. 
• Our completed privacy screen. [It fell over in a storm a week after completion, so had to be slightly revamped]

Here's my layout using the template. 

I love that I can just select the photos I want to use, and don't even have to think about the layout. 

This museum and particularly this mammoth, is something I remember from my childhood. My grandparents taking me to the Royal Museum in Victoria. I remember seeing the mammoth and being in absolute awe of it. Seeing it as an adult, is still impressive. I'm so glad we made this one of our first stops on our recent get away.

PL2022 - Week 22 | Sahlin Studio

Ahhhh.... Back to week 22 of my project life album. When instead of a heat wave, we were hoping to actually see the sun... This year, May and June were chilly and wet. But we're making up for it now. This year, like last year, we've had more than a fair share of 30+ degrees celcius days. 

It's something we're not totally accustomed to in the city. We longed for it on our annual trips to the lake,  but just being at home, the heat makes things seem stifling.

We haven't invested in air conditioning [yet]. Though if these hot summers continue to be the norm, the idea does seem a little bit more appealing. 

For now, we're making do with open windows and ceiling fans.

• The 'main stage' show is what drama dreams are made of. Last years show didn't happen because, well,  Covid. Auditions were held before Spring Break, rehearsals began right after. It was a busy few months for you and you absolutely thrived. 
• Adoring fans. 
• Tent camp with Trex, was thankfully a good weekend weather-wise. However, you didn't make it the whole weekend. Your exhaustion caught up with you and you got sick. 
• We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the wild horses. 
• These cartoon eyes on Libby... I couldn't love them more.

PL2022 - Weeks 20 & 21 | Sahlin Studio

I combined 2 weeks together here, for this project life page. Weeks 20 & 21. 

Always delighted to see hints of green, after a long cold winter. And for some reason, never a shortage of dandelions, but love getting bouquets of them [still]. 

She's now a whiz at the dandelion crown as well. Love it. 

• The boy chilling on the deck.
• Barry is the best griller around.
• Watching the Flames with much optimism. 
• Enjoying a bevvie outside.
• Loving these creations.
