December Daily 2018

Well, this post is long overdue.

But I did it. Well, nearly did it, as I was going through the album, I realized I'm missing days 18 and 19. Just plain forgot them.

I have a couple of places to add some journaling, but I can post my pages without that.

I had intended to have this done by the end of January. But I just wasn't feeling it. It turned super cold February 1st. You would have thought that considering I rarely left the house in a two week period, I'd of had plenty of time to finish my album. But I just wasn't feeling it then either.

I knew I would regret not finishing it, so I hunkered down and 'got 'er done'. This album is a little bit of everything. There is some hybrid stuff, digital, stamping, cutting, pasting, stitching, sewing.

I totally revamped my title page. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

So, without adding anything further, here is my 2018 December Daily album:

On day 11, which was the Home for the Holidays card, I tried hand-stitching it. Once I started it, I  hated how it looked. So I just stopped. I'm going to reprint that card, shrink the sentiment slightly and stitch it on the sewing machine.

The journaling that is missing is on day 22.  Madelyn was invited to go Christmas Caroling with a friend and her family. They were singing carols at a local market. She just had so much fun doing that, and it is just so her. That would totally be out of my comfort zone, especially having people watch me sing...

Also, kicking myself for the lack of photos I got on the 24th and 25th... All the photos on the 24th were sent to me. I had been experiencing dreadful neuralgia since the 20th of December. The kind that has you reaching for the Advil every 2-3 hours. So I wasn't in a super place. The lack of photos this year, can be attributed to that fact.

I did save bits and pieces from xmas gifts received. So I plan to add that to the 25th as well. To close up this years album, I created a couple quick easy layouts of our silly elves.

There were many different digital products used in creating these pages including: Sahlin Studio, Kerry Bradford, Sara Gleason.

I used physical elements, papers and journal cards from past December Daily and Studio Calico kits.

Thanks for checking it out!

FANniversary Celebration - Project Mouse

This weekend is the Anniversary, or rather FANniversary of 6 years of Project Mouse Goodies.

There are so, so many fabulous kit collaborations of Disney. If you click here, I have linked to the project mouse pages, or you can simply go to the-lilypad.com, and search Project Mouse.

This weekend is a big deal. There are lots of things happening, and some super fun challenges over at the FANniversary forum.

Here are a few layouts I have worked on over the past week, all to celebrate Project Mouse.

I'd be lying if I said that working with these photos didn't make me the slightest bit melancholy...

The photos of Barry and I were taken 20 years ago. TWENTY YEARS AGO... We made a trip to Disney World with friends, and I have to say, that Disney, as an adult, is epic. We had such a great time.

The photos of the kids at Disney were taken 8 years ago. And every time I look back at these photos, it makes my heart swell. It was such a fun trip. They were only 6 and 9, and were so well behaved. We walked SO much, and they were so small...

Would love to try and get back there again. I need new photos to document...

PL2019 - Weeks 1, 2 & 3

I'm playing a bit of catch up already with this years project life album.

Here are the first 3 weeks of 2019.

Week 1:

  • We rang in 2019 as a foursome. I know I did a whole pocket page on this, and included it as my end page for 2018, but it was also technically the first day of 2019.
  • This weeks walk downtown was so mild, if winter was like this, there wouldn't be a problem.
  • The girl asked me to braid her hair, so obviously I did.
  • Taking Christmas down is always gross. Even though things look so neat and tidy.
  • Signed up for January's 30 day smoothie challenge. I didn't have a smoothie every day, but did have about 4 a week. Found some new taste combinations that were really good.

Week 2:

  • Barry and I got the opportunity to actually meet Bryan Bauemler and it was really awesome.
  • Grade 8 field trip to the new Public Library. The building is quite amazing.
  • Mason home from school wearing his new Christmas garb.
  • Silly snapchat filters, we only play with Snapchat. We just save the silly images on the phone.
  • A beautiful sunrise I drove towards, after dropping Mad off for an overnight Trex camp.
  • First game of EMHW - the ref lost control of the game, more players in the penalty boxes than there were on the ice and benches.

Week 3:

  • This week was both Esso Minor Hockey week as well as Esso Golden Ring. We spent a LOT of time sitting in arenas. It was disappointing for both kids, as the Mustang's lost in a shoot out, and Adrenaline lost in overtime, after being tied. A heart breaker for both.
  • Madelyn at a Dr. appt, to see about a sore tailbone. [Nothing they could do]
  • Super Blood Wolf Moon, lunar eclipse happened, it was clear enough to see the eclipse and the moon turn red.

The following digital product was used:

Week 1 - Paislee Press Photo templates and Memory Keeper

Weeks 2&3 used the following Sahlin studio product:

Crikey it's Cold...

We have been experiencing sub-zero temperatures this week.

To say that it's been unpleasant, would be an understatement.

I'm not sure our furnace has cycled off for more than a few minutes at a time. It's so cold. The house just can't seem to stay warm.

I've had to rescue the dog, more times than I can count on one hand. She goes outside, gets too far away, can't move while at the same time, attempting to simultaneously lift all paws into the air. All my gear [boots, hat, mitts] wait at the back door, ready for a possible rescue mission.

Today was supposed to be much warmer, but it was -32 deg Celsius [including windchill] upon wake up time this morning, so I'm skeptical...

What's a girl to do...

Scrapbook. That's what.

I'm going to dedicate today, to trying to finish up my December Daily album. I think I have all the photos. Now to pretty them up and do a bit of embellishing. I was hoping to have the album finished by the end of January, but obviously that didn't happen.

I also have a couple of digital layouts to share.

This one is the template freebie for February. You can download the template by clicking here.

Oh this little dog... Every single one of us is crazy about her. She's ruined us. No other doggo will hold a candle to this sweet little girl. This was such a sweet picture of her... It's been awhile since she's had her own page.

This template was from January, unfortunately, it is no longer available as a freebie. I only created the layout yesterday. I was going through photos and realized that I only get pictures once a year, of these two kids together on the ice. Kind of crazy when you consider how often we're at the rink.

The following Sahlin Studio products were used:

February template: Miss Libby

January template: They Skate

PL2019 - Title Page

I finally decided that my 2019 album will be a pocket page style. I think I have found enough page protectors to take me through the year. Having said that, this year could be a hodgepodge of different page designs. I might like how that looks...

Here is my title page for this years album.

I decided to use the photos we'd had taken for Christmas, as my 'us' pictures. It's sometimes just easier to use what you have, rather than get everyone ready for more pictures. Not everyone is quite as keen about the family photos as I am...

The following Sahlin Studio product was used:

Shine Bright Kit - https://the-lilypad.com/store/Shine-Bright-Kit.html

The script 2019 was a subscriber freebie from Paislee Press.
