July Template Freebie | Sahlin Studio

We just celebrated Canada Day. It was pretty low key. 

With the start of a new month, comes the release of a new free template from Sahlin Studio. Here is a look at July's template.

It's so generous and I love having a template at my finger tips to get a story down. Templates are free to download, through the entire month, so make sure you check it out here. 

I wanted to document our trip to see Foreigner in a little more detail. I know I included some photos in my project life album. But here I'm able to focus on this story alone. 

I wanted to kind of jot down a few big memories from this event. So I used repetition type journaling. I started the sentence to each memory with I want to remember... Ali Edwards is big fan of repetition journaling. 

Our trip to see Foreigner was delayed by 2 years. The band was initially to come to Calgary on March 28th of 2020, but within the first few weeks of that month, it's safe to say that all hell broke loose. Fast forward to September of 2021, and they were announcing concert dates. The kids heard us talking about booking tickets and they were eager to see them as well. So, 4 tickets were booked. 

I can't say enough good things about the experience our family had. This is a night I'll want to remember for a very long time to come. It's hard to believe that I have a 20 and 17 year old living in my house. I sometimes long for the days past, when the kids were little. But man, they are at a cool age right now as well. Love you two so very much.

PL2022 - Week 17 | Sahlin Studio

Week 17 of my project life album.

This week included date night, a hair cut, and signs of spring. 

• Seriously, we found a local pub that has pretty darn good wings and a weekly wing night. We're not on a first name basis with the servers. Yet...
• Quite the transformation, Mad's before and after
• Mason's friends waiting on the driveway for him to get home from work, so they can all go to the cabin for the weekend. 
• Blooms and signs of spring. I only like dandelions in tiny little vases. I hate them growing like crazy all over our city.

PL2022 - Week 16 | Sahlin Studio

Back to week 16 of my project life album. The week that one day felt spring-ish and the next day was winter...  Oh Calgary... You are so very confusing. 

It was a busy week, and we were thankful that the snow melted within a couple of days. 

• Watching the birds in the bird bath on Monday.
• Watching the snow fall in record amount on Tuesday.
• The Christmas lights looked right in place. [Snow had to be knocked off tree branches]
• Madelyn spent Saturday in Banff with her Trex group. So Barry and I spent the day in Banff as well, it was such a nice day. And there was absolulely NO evidence of any recent snowfall.

PL2022 - Week 15 | Sahlin Studio

Week 15 of project life takes us back to Easter weekend. 

The firsts of everything have been hard this year. 

I'm sure they will continue to be. 

• Checking out a vintage/antique shop.
• Barry went saw Alice Cooper in concert this week. 
• We check out post secondary education offerings in Albert for Madelyn this week...
• Quick family selfie.
• Table setting for our Easter dinner.

PL2022 - Week 14 | Sahlin Studio

Here is my project life page for week 14. Delighted that things actually feel as close to 'normal' as things have felt for a long, long time. 

• Signs of spring on the trees. 
• Went to dinner and a movie with a good friend, it was so nice.
• Went and watched Madelyn's lunchbox theatre performance at school.
• Got a hair cut, and every time I wonder why I wait so long between cuts...

So thankful this week to have a dear friend come and spend the night with us, her daughter was in town for a volleyball tourney. My circle of people is small-ish, but there the best of the best!

Week 13 of my project life album is here:

• Making our own fun in the car wash. I've been taking 'selfie' photos since the mid-1980's. I should go back and try and find those photos and document them...
• I had an eye procedure this week, it was more nerve-wracking than anything.  
• Some beautiful tulips from a friend.
• Visiting with friends.
• Madelyn's selfie with the lunchbox crew. She is at home on the stage.

Oh my goodness. I miss my Mum so much. It's overwhelming. It's been 7 months and it still feels like it can't be true. I'm still waiting to wake up from this bad dream... 

Thankful for my pictures. Thankful for the special relationship we shared.
