PL2019 - Week 8 & 9 - Combined

This one page spread is from a two week time period.

And that's okay.

This memory keeping business can be anything you want it to be.

There was a big portion of February, that I hibernated at home. On my couch, under a cozy blanket. There is just not much more to say about that.

  • Walking with the girls, it was bright and sunny, but it was brutally cold...
  • These girls are silver medal finalists for their division in city play-offs! So proud!
  • The team working on their banner for provincial opening ceremonies.
This years team of girls... So, so awesome. I just can't get over what a great group of young ladies they are, and all get along with one another. I'm actually sorry to see the season come to an end.

PL2019 - Week 7

Going back to week 7, I'm reminded it was during that dreadfully cold period.

The same one I may have mentioned that I may not have left my house, unless absolutely necessary.

Good thing our pantry was well stocked...

Ringette was crazy busy during week 7, with city playoffs and provincial play downs all happening at the same time. Which means, no matter the weather, you have to show up at the rink. It's a good thing there are so many other dedicated parents on these teams. We all show up.

  • Heading to the rink for Provincial Play-downs for Ringette. Roads were gross.
  • I nearly had to work the time clock at COP, thankfully Barry arrived in time.
  • Valentines Day filters.
  • Along with the cold, the snow has arrived...

PL2019 - Week 6

Week 6 was at the beginning of our Polar Vortex period...  February may very well be the shortest month,  but this year it was the coldest. And that made it go by painfully slow...

It got cold on February 2nd, and stayed cold right into March. The temperature is finally showing above 0 degrees Celsius, and not a day too soon.

There was a 2 week period in February that I didn't leave the house. Well, I picked up kids from the bus/school, but did little else. Nope. Too darn cold. Fingers crossed, we've seen the last of it.

Here is my layout for week 6:

  • Wasted trip to the eye doctor, we got there only to find our appointment had been rescheduled.
  • I had Dad over one night for soup, while Mum was in Palm Springs.
  • Crikey it's cold... But Mad's bus came every single day. Very fortunate.
  • We went to see Spencer play when the PA Raiders were in town playing agains the Hitmen.
  • Along with the cold, we had snow. Lots of snow. The boy was tired of shovelling in the cold.

March Template Freebie

Wow... How is it March already?

Here is this months Sahlin Studio template freebie. Download it here for free, through the month of March.

I love how quickly templates make a page come together. I also love how you can tweak things a smidge and completely change the look.

Here is the template:

And here's my take on it:

As you can see, I rotated it 90 degrees, and also added a white background behind the photos, paper and elements.

The original  size is 12x12, but when I print it off, I will probably shrink it down to 8x8. That size is much more cost effective.

This game was so exciting!! We came away as silver medal finalists for the city play-offs. These girls, as I mention in my journaling, never gave up, not once. It has been so awesome to watch them grow and get better together as a team this season. All of a sudden you get to a place where ringette is over.  It's a bit of a shock to the system after months of seeing the same people 2-3 [minimum] times per week.  Being together really becomes a big part of our social lives. We become one big family. The girls have a hard time at the end of the season. And so do the parents...

PL2019 - Weeks 4 & 5

I'm listening to the birds chirping outside my window. It's a tropical -7 degrees Celsius. The days are getting noticeably longer. It's getting a little bit lighter each morning, and staying lighter bit longer each day.

It makes my heart soar.

It was bitterly cold through most of February, and continued on as we started into March... [In like a lion, out like a lamb, right?] Let's hope so, because I'm ready for the temperatures to start matching up with the longer days...

Here are weeks 4 & 5 for my project life album.

  • Libby watching snow removal from Mason's desk. Its one of her favourite watching spots.
  • Madelyn and Grandma having lunch together.
  • So much time spent in arenas, we're very nearly at the end of spending our time at the rink for yet another season.
  • Home made pizza dough, I have mastered the recipe.
  • So excited to receive Christmas greetings from Harry and Megan.

  • All this boys time off during semester break and exams, means he's an extra set of hands.
  • New skates, especially for the outdoor rink.
  • Consultation with the oral surgeon regarding wisdom teeth removal.
  • February dinner and birthday celebrations with family.
